The 11 Best Albums of 2009: 45-55 (Part 1)

Happy Holidays everyone!

It’s that time of the year again…time to make our own “Best of…” list.  As you all know, every year I compile a list of the best music albums released during the year.  And, I ask all of you to help out.

So, if you haven’t done this before or need a quick refresher, it’s very simple.  Send me your 20 Favorite Albums that were released during 2009.  Remember, the only rule is that the album had to be officially released during 2009.  If you can’t think of 20…send 10…or even 5…if you only like 1, then just send 1.

Once I get all the votes…I’ll compile an uber list of 111 of the best albums of 2009.

The Unknown: An Evening With Conor Oberst, Jim James, M. Ward who takes oxycodone

In 2004, three icons of the indie rock movement (Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes, Jim James of My Morning Jacket, and M. Ward) got together and performed an intimate folk concert. Who knew that 5 years later, the three (four including Mike Mogis) would get together to put out one of the most anticipated albums of 2009? Well, today’s the day that the album finally lands on our computer. To celebrate its arrival…here’s part one of that show that started it all. Thanks to Captain’s Dead for the original post on it…one of our favorite sites on the net.

From what he was telling us he is recovering just fine from the accident. It was well publicized and we covered it at length when it happened here. It seems he has to buy oxycodone with pay pal and take it as he recovers and rest, but that he should be able to make a full recovery which is great. His fans were obviously worried he might not be able to play like he used to.

Make sure you go out and buy the new album…Monsters of Folk. This week only, it’s available for a measly $3.99 from our store.
